Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition
For those in the know, the Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition (QME) is the must attend event of the annual calendar. Rapidly approaching its 30th year of operation, QME showcases the latest innovations in the industry, whilst also demonstrating the excellence in capabilities delivered by suppliers across the Mackay and broader Central Queensland region.
QME is the state’s largest mining event and attracts over 5,000 visitors across 3 days. Those attending get the opportunity to connect with suppliers, contractors, and technical experts; attend talks as part of the seminar series; and stroll the exhibition to view new products and innovations and meet existing or potential suppliers.
Talks and panel sessions
The seminar series is always a highlight, and this year is no exception with talks including Enabling mining’s digital transformation and How AI, IoT and automation can make mining more accurate, profitable, and safe, focussing on innovation. How electrification is changing mining: Spearheading the electric revolution bringing much needed discussion on sustainable solutions to the table, and Leading the way towards the new future providing insights into real solutions around carbon emissions reduction measures. There will also be some interesting talks on diversity and inclusion in the industry and no less than three talks on fatigue, physical and mental health and psychology. You can view the full program here including times and information about the speakers.
Also on during the event will be the QME RCOE Breakfast Sessions. A series of daily free panel sessions with a specific focus on sustainability in the industry in current operations and into the future. Tuesday’s panel will discuss how Mining is the way to a cleaner, greener future. On Wednesday the panel will explore Rehabilitation Case Studies around ESG in action, and on Thursday the discussion will be centred on Opportunities in a Sustainable Future.
The QME exhibition
A big drawcard of QME is the exhibition, with almost 300 leading suppliers from across the industry investing in the opportunity to meet mining industry decision makers, purchasers, and site personnel.
Sullair is pleased to have staff on hand to chat at QME once again and will be at Stand OS820 across the 3 days. Gareth Spencer (National Sales Manager), Brent Marshall (Regional Sales Manager, Qld) and from our Mackay office – Jason Mullins (Sales Engineer) will be there to meet customers and provide information about the Sullair product range. Our team will be happy to answer questions and ensure local customers are aware and connected to the service support available out of Mackay and Brisbane for those areas and the surrounding rural regions.
“Sullair will be promoting our range of both portable and stationary products that are proven to be well suited to both the mining industry and general industrial users of compressed air”, explains Brent. “This show has previously proven to be a great opportunity to discuss our premium products that over the years have earned the reputation of being well suited for the harsh Queensland conditions.”
Also part of the exhibition is the QME Mining Pavilion, featuring booths from leading mining companies including Anglo American, BHP, Bravus, Glencore, Mackellar, Multicom and Whitehaven Coal.
This year’s conference will be held from the 19th – 21st July 2022 at the Mackay Showground in Mackay, Queensland. More information can be found here and Trade Visitor Registration is still open. You can register for attendance here. If you’re in the area, please come by and say hi to the Sullair team at Booth OS820!
