For those in the drilling industry, the ADIA (Australian Drilling Industry Association) annual conference, Drillfest, stands out as a key event in the calendar.
It not only provides an excellent platform for networking but also serves as the ideal stage to explore the latest developments and innovations that are driving growth and progress within the industry. This year, Drillfest 2023 finds its home in Toowoomba, Queensland, taking place from the 18th to the 19th of October at the Royal Toowoomba Showgrounds.
Established in the mid-1950s after the Australian Diamond Drilling Association was formed, ADIA represents its members who are deeply entrenched in the drilling sector. Its purpose is to provide training, resources, conferences and seminars, industry news, advocacy and more for its members and the industry. ADIA holds a number of training courses and events each year – one of which is Drillfest.
There is always an engaging lineup of speakers, and this year’s schedule focuses on drilling techniques and innovations, training, industry risk mitigation, and workplace safety.
Hitachi Global Air Power will have a strong presence at Drillfest this year. We’re excited to be once again attending the event as exhibitors. Some of our key people, including Gareth Spencer (National Sales Manager – Capital), Liam Butterworth (Sales Engineer), and Quentin Sanders (Leading Hand Air End Technician), will be on hand to chat and answer questions at booth 21.
“It’s been a busy year for the industry, and we’ve been offering training to more drilling customers than ever before”, explains Gareth. “There’s been an increase in electrification and battery tech, exploration drilling is still buoyant, and we continue to support drillers nationally with quality products that have proven capabilities”.
There will also be an air end on display, and Quentin will be more than willing to walk you through the inner workings of Hitachi Global Air Power’s air end centres. He may even sneak in a humble brag or two about our shiny new Perth air ends centre, which significantly boosts our capacity for air end exchange services, enabling us to stock more parts on site, and delivering comprehensive air end support.
We are proud that ADIA has engaged our Quality and Training Manager, Wayne Liddell, to support the ‘safe and productive use of high pressure air course’ being run at Drillfest this year as a compressor product representative. He will also be on-site representing Hitachi Global Air Power and showcasing over three decades of his experience to the Drillfest delegates.
In great news for Drillfest customers, we’re offering a special on our high pressure portable range. Orders placed at Drillfest will receive a discount, and the first service kit will be included free of charge. This offer will run while stocks last across multiple models and is valid for orders placed by 30th November 2023, and delivered by the end of February 2024. Find out more about the Combos special here.
“We’re well positioned to support customers Australia wide with plenty of stock on hand of drill kits, tanks, and high pressure compressors”, explains Gareth. “This means we can meet the needs of our customers quickly and efficiently”.
It’s not all work though! We’re proudly sponsoring the Sundowner networking drinks function on Wednesday evening and will be raffling off a (much coveted) toy truck at Drillfest. Please drop by the booth and chat with the guys to check it out and find out more – and don’t forget to ask about the ADIA special on combos!
“Last year’s ADIA conference in Adelaide was a great success and an excellent networking opportunity within the industry. It’s always great to catch up with customers from across the country in person and meet new ones”, explains Gareth Spencer, who attended last year.
ADIA is a not-for-profit organisation with around 800 members. They represent drilling contractors, suppliers, consultants, and regulators. Drillfest 2023 will be held from the 18th – 19th October 2023 at the Royal Toowoomba Showgrounds in Toowoomba, Queensland. More information can be found here* and if you’re in the area, please come by and say hi to the team at Booth 21!
*Please note registrations for Drillfest 2023 have now closed.
